Carl Dodge Johnson, 88 of Haines City, Florida, passed away February 8, 2018 in Prescott, Arizona. Carl was born August 1, 1929 in the village of Parish, New York. He was the son of Ivan and Winona (Dodge) Johnson. He was a graduate of Central Square High School and served in the U.S Armed forces during the Korean War.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 915 and also was a member of the West Monroe volunteer Fire Department where he was proud to help save lives. He retired as a Marine electrician working in the naval shipyards in Charleston, S.C. and also in Scotland. Carl was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Nancy (Goldsmith) Johnson.
He is survived by his three children Brent Johnson and his wife Cindy of Constantia, NY, Kelly Coay of Prescott, AZ, and Tracy Weeks and her husband Keith of Charleston, S.C. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; his sister Eleanor Doria of Pulaski and his brother Richard Johnson of West Monroe.
Graveside services for Carl, and his beloved wife, Nancy, will be held on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at 11 AM, in the West Monroe Cemetery, West Monroe, NY.
Flowers may be sent to the Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square, NY 13036, but must arrive by Friday for transport to the cemetery Saturday morning.
