Debbie Jean Jordan Simmons peacefully passed from our world after a long and courageous battle with cancer on June 28, 2017. She left as she overlooked beautiful Kasoag Lake in Pulaski, New York.  

A memorial is planned for her at the Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Rockport, Texas on July 8, 2017. Visitation will held at 1:00 pm and the service will follow at 2:00 pm.  

Debbie was born on March 24, 1951 in Biloxi Mississippi and received her bachelors degree in Elementary Education from the University of Arkansas and her Masters in Special Education from Oklahoma State University. Her teaching career extended across 

Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas. She moved to Rockport, Texas in 1991 where she completed her 34 year teaching career. She spent 23 years teaching at Rockport-Fulton Middle School.  

Debbie is preceded in death by her mother, Bobbie Jean Lehr, her father Mark Taylor Jordan and her brother Larry Taylor Jordan.  

She is survived by her daughter Kara Jean Simmons and son Jeremy Paul Simmons. Her two beautiful granddaughters Kaitlyn Jean Reece and Emily Claire Reece. Her sister and brother-in-law Karen Jordan Nellis and Verne Nellis. Her nieces and nephews Megan Cornell, Angie Nellis, Jeff Jordan, 

Jason Nellis and Derek Nellis and a great nephew Andrew Skotnicki as well as many other family and friends.  

Debbie was the epitome of faith, hope and love. She had faith in mankind's goodness, she gave hope to those around her, and she expressed love in all she did. The Bible says" 

In the end there is faith, hope and love. The greatest of these is Love. " 

Thank you Debbie for not just showing love but being the love each and everyone needed. Our lives are infinitely better for knowing and loving you.
