Frederick D May
January 4, 1930 ~ January 16, 2016 (age 86) 86 Years OldFredrick D. May 86, of Central Square, passed away January 16, 2016 at the Iroquois Nursing Home in Jamesville.
Mr. May was born January 4, 1930 in Ontario, Canada, to Clifton and Helen May. Fred grew up in the lovely Thousand Islands. After High School he enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 and served in Korea until 1953.
He worked on heavy equipment, after attending mechanics school, and eventually became branch manager at Pettibone. Fred was proud of the fact that he helped build the St. Lawrence Seaway. He immensely enjoyed boating and fishing on the St. Lawrence River.
Fred is survived by his sweetheart of 60 years, Eunice G. Stumpf. He has left behind four children, Gregory (Joni), Steven (Stephanie), Mary Ann (James) Mrowka and David (Susan); ten grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. He lived life on his own terms and left it the same way.
There will be no calling hours. A Memorial Service will be held at Divine Mercy Parish, 592 S. Main St., Central Square, on Saturday, January 30th at 1:00 PM.
