Jane L. Nichols, 99, of Cleveland, NY passed away on Friday at Community General Hospital, Syracuse, NY following a brief illness with several family members by her side.

   Jane was born in Hartford, NY in 1918 to Maggie and Charles Burch.  She was married to the late Harold O. Nichols from Argyle, NY for 62 years. Harold passed away in 2001.

   Jane lived in Cleveland for almost 40 years where she was a member of the Cleveland United Methodist Church.  She was financial secretary at the church and a volunteer worker for all church outreach activities. She was especially active in church dinners and Fun(d) Day activities.  She also served as the secretary for the Maple Flats Cemetery.

   Besides her husband, Jane was also predeceased by her daughters, Karren, Denise and Sandy; and her son Ransom.

   Surviving are her daughter and son in law, Doris and Merle Nichols; grandchildren Rhue Nichols, James Nichols, Karren Rector, Myrna Stone, Andrew Steele, Heather Steele, Maggie Ocmand, Gonzo Steele and Jamieson Steele; and many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends and her church family.

   Services will be held 1:00pm Saturday, October 14, 2017 at the Cleveland United Methodist Church, 73 Bridge St., Cleveland, NY 13042 with a reception immediately following.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Cleveland United Methodist Church.
