Kaye became my mentor and teacher when I was quite young and we maintained a special friendship, even after I moved away to Maine. It was Kaye who made it possible for me to have my own horse, Kim, who became my four legged best friend. She and Don gave me my first job - working on the farm picking rocks, cleaning stalls, milking, haying and cutting trees. To this day, it is the hardest work I have ever done, and the most satisfying. Kaye taught me the power of being patient and consistent, with animals and with people. With Kay, I had the experience of working quietly side by side for hours at a time, and developing that special ability to communicate without words that all good farmers know so well. Kaye also taught me the importance of taking just a little time to have fun now and then. These are all things I wish I had told her, but that I hope she knows. I am envisioning her now, reunited with Apache, Gypsy, Taj, Friday, Mitzi, Rollie, Dixie, Jingle and so many other animals she loved and cared for. I do believe they have been holding a special place for her. My love and condolences to the family. Gail

We are sorry to learn of the passing of Kaye. She was a caring and passionate horsewoman and I always enjoyed our saddle fitting visits. We would not only talk about the horses but about food and farming. I will miss our visits and hope she is riding wherever she is now. Healing thoughts to her family at this time.

My deepest sympathy to Kaye's family. She was a wonderful person with such strength and wisdom. Kaye taught me to ride and I leased one of her horses for several years. She showed me how passionate she was about her farm and how viewing it from the back of a horse gave her so much joy. Bless you, Kaye, and may you rest in peace. You will be missed by many.

I can't say how many hours I stood with Kaye watching Jade & Jordan ride round and round Kaye's barn!! All the while having great conversations! Miss those times Kaye, and miss our talks. You are such a special spirit. We all miss you... Wish we could be there to celebrate your life, but we are all away. You reside in our hearts though. Molly, Jade & Jordan ❤️

Kaye was a very special person. We enjoyed time together many years ago and I am so glad that I was able to spend some time with her this past June. Her gentle spirit has touched many people and we are all better for having known her.

I had the joy as a young teenager who had the privilege of working side-by-side with Kaye doing morning and afternoon milking of the herd for a couple of years. A kind and gentle soul who new what a good, productive, hard-days work could accomplish. We lived across from one of the Fisher's field and she was at home on the seat of a tractor raking or bailing hay is she was accomplished in the saddle of a beautiful horse (man could he ride). You could tell she had a deep respect and love of the animals and was always tending to their needs. What a fine lady. I (we, the Abell family) will miss her. I will never forget the '66 blizzard that hit which kept the milk trucks away from the farm and the Fishers had to dump the milk that couldn't be hauled away. So what do they do? Call all the neighbors for a homemade ice-cream social from miles around and you can imagine how good that ice-cream was with the fresh whole milk and real cream. Blessings on the Fisher family at the loss of such a wonderful lady. God bless and keep you all!
Loving Regards,
Keith Abell

I am giving thanks and gratitude for Kaye's presence in my life. She has always been a model for me in making your life speak. She put her body where her faith and beliefs could be seen and felt by others. Her gentle way of being in the world will be passed along by those whose lives she touched. I know she loved and valued her family. I am holding you all in light and know that Kaye's light still shines brightly and is with us all.

Kaye was a very special person. So happy that I could spend a morning with her last summer. She was an amazing friend. So soft spoken and full of love for people, her family, her friends, her farm and her pets. She always had animals around her from the time she was born. She lived for 73 amazing years. My prayers go to her family to find all the joy that Kaye would want you to have in your hearts for her and her passions. Susan Henry Barnard
