Nancy (Burns) Haberer
August 7, 1946 ~ February 10, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years OldNancy C. Haberer, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother departed this life with family by her side, holding her hand, on Friday. Born on August 7th, 1946, to Bob and Mim Burns, she lived a full and happy life, with her family being her primary focus.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 53 years, Robert Haberer; seven children—Donald (Annie), Sharon (Victor) Cronon, Brenda (Gregory) Pierce, Timothy (Anna), Kimberly (Daniel) Melvin, Heidi, and Robert (Katie); 15 grandchildren—Alicia, Jessica, Sebastian, Brooke, Jordan, Morgan, Daniel, Jacob, Bridgette, Miranda, Madison, Susmita, Marianne, Angilee and Hunter; four great-grandchildren—Natalie, Caz, Connor and Colin (and one on the way); and five siblings—Dennis (Beverly) Burns, Daniel (Terry) Burns, Peachie (David) Draper, Kevin (Joy) Burns and Deborah (Robert) Bush. She is predeceased by her parents.
Nancy was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother; her family, especially her grandchildren, meant everything to her. Nancy practiced her Catholic faith with devotion and was always ready to offer a hand to those in need. She opened her home to anyone needing a place to stay; her kitchen was a welcoming place, offering laughter and warm meals. She enjoyed playing cards, going to Bingo and spending time at the casino. Nancy found time to work outside the home, being employed at Syracuse University and Central Square School District.
A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, 11 AM, at Divine Mercy Parish, Central Square.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Food Pantry and Downstairs Scottie of Divine Mercy Parish in Central Square.
