Dear Ed and family including Sonia's siblings - Cynthia, Eric and Kathy: Saddened to hear this news. I have many fond memories of my cousin of years past - from when we first arrived from Germany, her father's clambakes to times in Mattydale and Parish. Sonia was a very special lady. - always smiling, alwsys a kind word and so much fun to be around. May she be free of pain and find guidance from pre-deceased family members.

Blessings to the family of Sonia Donegan. Please allow me to digress
Sonia and Eddie Donegan, a young newly married couple, lived upstairs from my family at 415 Bear St. in Syracuse. at sometime during the mid-fifties. I remember Sonia was pregnant with little Eddie. I don't remember if Eddie worked at Leihs and Steigerwald on Grant Bld at the time, but knew there was a connection. When the family moved, they left behind a drawing board with Eddie's name in one corner that stayed with my mother until she moved in 2000.
I believe that there was a relative who lived next door to my aunt, Ella Genska, on Wright Ave in Mattydale

Such a nice lady. I always enjoyed working with Sonia at Mexico HS. Had not seen her in a long time but she was frequently thought about. Expressing kind thoughts and condolences to the family. She made her mark on many and I think of her frequently when I sit to read or that smile crosses my thoughts. I am so sorry for your loss. ❤️

She introduced me to Clifford, the Big Red Dog and The Old Lady that Swallowed a Fly and "don't ever tease a weasel because teasing isn't nice" and I have a love for libraries that probably started through her.
