Ann L. Eischen

Ann L. Eischen passed away the morning of December 25, 2018 at Loretto Nursing Home in Syracuse, NY. She was 81 years old, born in New York City to Paul and Pauline (Schmitte) Toppe. Ann Married Bernard M. Eischen in January 1957 and was married 50 years until he passed away in 2007. She was his loving devoted wife and beloved by him. She grew up in Syracuse, lived in Baldwinsville, Fulton, and Central Square.

After graduating from Blodgett Vocational High School, Ann held secretarial positions in addition to a Library Aide at Elm Street Elementary in Phoenix, NY. She was a highly skilled Secretary at former American Grandby Company in Liverpool and several years at the Fulton Valley Newspaper. Ann took a college English course for her work in Liverpool and achieved an A. She learned to ride horses in English style at Pople Ridge Horse Farm in Mexico, NY and rode Rommel, her daughter's horse, who became a school horse after leaving the Eischen's family. Ann's strength and fighting spirit, devotion, kind ways and sense of style made her loved and admired by all who knew her. 

Ann is survived by two adult children, Daniel of Mystic, CT and Amy of Syracuse, NY; brother Robert (Ricki) Toppe and his children Kim (Jim) Buck and Bob, Jr. (Sarah); and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thanks to her daughter Amy Eischen; brother and sister-in-law Peter and Lousie Eischen, Ricki Toppe, and Stephanie Deecher for the helping hands during the time when the needs for Ann's care increased. She leaves many friends.

Calling Hours will be held on Thursday, June 20, 2019, from 2 pm to 4 pm, with a Memorial Service to follow at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, Ann has requested you might consider a donation to her favorite charity, Susan G.
