Beverly G. Halsey, 97, of New Haven, passed away late Tuesday, March 12 surrounded by loved ones.
Beverly was born on November 29, 1921, the youngest of five to the late Arrah and Allen Gibson.
She and her late husband, Robert Keith Halsey, started Bob Halsey’s Garage in Mexico, NY not long after Robert returned home from World War II. They sold the business in 1978 to Roger Bristol and it is still in operation today as Halsey’s Machinery.
Beverly is survived by her three children, Gilbert Halsey, Nancy Duell, and Bonnie (Jim) Sheldon. Her seven grandchildren, Susan (Ted) Mowers, Matthew (Kristine) Duell, Holly Bayle, Jodi (Bill) Lawton, Katie (Adam) Hungerford, Kelley Sheldon, Kevin (Alesia) Sheldon; ten great-grandchildren, Haley Duell, Matty Duell, Jon Bayle, Savannah Bayle, Colton Duell, Austin Lawton, Sydney Lawton, Payton Nelson, Aiden Degroff, and Eli Sheldon.
Beverly was always surrounded by her family and loved ones, whether it was in New Haven where she lived with her granddaughter, Jodi, and her family, or at Wellesley Island in her favorite chair overlooking the St. Lawrence River.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the Lycoming Methodist Church at 1:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019. A reception will immediately follow at the Lawton residence.
