Dian A. (Ford) Lansing

Dian A. Lansing (Ford), 81, formerly of Bridgeport, NY passed away peacefully at Cunningham Nursing Home on Friday. Born in Fulton, she is the daughter of Fred and Augusta Ford. Dian graduated from Blodgett High School. Dian married the love of her life, Nelson, and shared life, laughter and love for 59 years. Dian and Nelson lived in Mattydale with their children until they moved to Bridgeport in 1976.

Dian had worked at Flah’s, K-Mart and OTB but her real passion was her love for arts and crafts. She won many 1st prize ribbons at the NYS Fair with her drawings/paintings, clothes, and even furniture pieces.  Besides these, she made many more lovely pieces for her family to cherish; especially Christmas decorations.  She also enjoyed BINGO, 3 Musketeer’s Candy Bars, playing the piano, and garage sales (which ultimately turned into several "Garage Sale Christmas"). Dian was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose never ending love for her family will stay in our hearts forever and she will be dearly missed.

Dian is predeceased by her husband, Nelson (2017), her parents, and her sister Jeannette McDermott. 

Dian is survived by her children: Vickie Haas, Scott Lansing, Constance (Sean) Tessier, Tamatha (Scott) Davison; Grandchildren: Kerry (Annie) Shanahan, Stephanie Shanahan, Brittney (Jay) Lelonek, Kyle Tessier, Cory Davison, Kaitlyn Davison, Luke Lansing, Adrienna Lansing; Great-Grandchildren: Layla, Whitney, Beckett and Carter. She is also survived by her siblings: Joy Geer, William E. Ford and Hollie (John) DeCarlo as well as many nieces and nephews. 

The family wishes to extend their most heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for all the compassionate care that Dian received at Cunningham, Sedgwick, St. Joseph’s Regional Dialysis and St. Joseph’s Hospital for many years. 

Calling Hours are Monday, March 11th from 5 to 7 pm at Traub Funeral Home, Bridgeport with services immediately following.  

Spring burial will take place at the Collamer Cemetery.
