Doris French Obituary


Doris Irene Bradshaw French, 71, passed away Wednesday January 22, 2020 with her daughter and loved ones by her side. 

Doris was born November 10, 1948 and resided in Palermo most of her life in the cherished log home she and her husband built and raised their two children.  She graduated from Mexico Academy and Central Schools in 1966 and later, graduating from Powelson Business School.  She retired from Carrier Corporation in 2004 after 25 years of service. She and her husband owned the Whispering Pines Christmas tree and beef cattle farm.  Doris was an amazing devoted mother who's life revolved around her children and husband of over 40 years.  Doris was a devoted Christian.  She was a long time member of the Palermo United Methodist Church and the Palermo Senior Citizens.  She enjoyed crafting, her gift basket business - Originals by Doris, going to auctions, mowing neighbors lawns, and riding around her beautiful 100 acres property in addition to relaxing at their summer home on Lake Ontario.  Doris had many beloved pets and was passionate about loving all animals, gardening and nature.  She enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family and found enjoyment with everyone that crossed her path.  She was a very giving, caring, nurturing person and always put others first.  She is remembered by many for her smile, generosity and how she loved cooking for everyone.

Doris was predeceased by her parents George and Illa Bradshaw, son Patrick James French and husband Walter James French as well as Sister in Law Sarah "Sally" Arnold and her husband Lynn "Arnie" Arnold and Brother in Law, David French.   She is survived by her daughter Jaime Anne (Lupe) Tijerina and beloved grandsons Dustin James and Liam Antonia  Tijerina both of Texas. Her sisters Rosalie (Raymond) Stevens of North Volney and Jeanette Bradshaw of Liverpool and Sister in Law Katherine French of North Syracuse.  Nephew Dwayne (Cindy) Arnold of Maine, Niece Tina (Andrew) Bashford of North Volney, Niece Julie (Stuart) Smith of Central Square and Nephew Anthony Bradshaw of Syracuse.  She is also survived by many great and great-great nieces and nephews, not to mention numerous loved ones who considered her as a mother, aunt and special friend.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at 11 am, at Palermo United Methodist Church. A memorial trust will be set up in honor of her memory for her cherished grandsons Dustin and Liam.  Contributions may be sent to: Jaime Tijerina at 2409 Alloway Drive, Fort Worth Texas 76119.
