George E. Hoeh, Jr., 82, of Central Square, passed away on Tuesday. At the age of 16 he started his own trucking company, hauling coal for the Pennsylvania coal mines. George sold the company to the drivers and moved to New York to marry his wife, Shirley. He continued driving trucks for various companies until settling in to what was eventually known as Macsteel Service Centers, from which he retired after 27 years of service. He was predeceased earlier this month by his wife Shirley.
He is survived by his, children, Donna Winks and David Hoeh; grandchildren; Brandi (Brian) Kotlarz, Sarah Winks, Dustin (Amanda) Hoeh, Kyle Winks, Ashley Hoeh, Adam Winks, and Nathan Winks; one great-grandchild, Charlotte; sister, Edna Francis; brothers, Charles J. (Carol) Hoeh and Thomas R. Hoeh; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 4, 10-12pm, at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square, with a service to follow. George and Shirley will be laid to rest together at a later date, where they were raised, in Pennsylvania.
