James N. Bailey, 91, passed away on February 1st after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 16, 1926, in Syracuse, New York.
He was a loving husband to Priscilla N. Bailey for 36 years, and father to his children, Betty Ann Bailey,
Bonnie Neyhart (Kenny), Robert Bailey (Linda), Larry Bailey (Mary), Cindy Madison (Jeff), and Joe Karney, 7 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Jim graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy in Syracuse and was a WWII Navy Veteran. He served in the European and Pacific theaters and was awarded 3 stars for his heroic military service. He was a manager with Hotel Syracuse and was also a salesman for Kendall Oil for many years. He was dedicated Mason of 60 years with the Nortrip Lodge #998. He was a former member of the Bridgeport United Methodist Church and the Bridgeport Fire Department.
Jim’s passion was making decoys and splitting wood with his sons. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who loved Wolfe Island and Alaska. He loved to golf with his many friends and enjoy a good cigar. He truly enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, James Bailey Sr. and Irene Bailey and sons Jay and David.
Masonic services and military honors to follow the calling hours from 4 to 7 PM on Wednesday, February 7th, at Traub Funeral Home in Bridgeport, NY.
