James "JJ" Dann, Jr

James Lyle Dann Jr. (JJ), 43 of Mexico, passed away on Monday, August 12, 2019.  “My Nanners” was born to James and Jane Dann on May 5, 1976. JJ attended Mexico Academy High School and graduated in the Class of 1994. He had many high school friends that remained such throughout his life.  He worked along side his father for the Town of Palermo Highway Department from 1994-1999 and was a former member of the Palermo Volunteer Fire Department.. JJ had a lifetime career in HVAC and recently became partner and operator of Eagle Mechanical and General Contracting L.L.C.

JJ loved family more than anything in this world. He lived for others, and he lived with a passion for the love of his children, family and those friends he held dear. He was the one everyone called when things got rough. He always had an ear to listen, a smile to give, the gift of gab and wisdom beyond his years. Hunting was his second love. You could often find him in the woods… his other home. He was always hardworking and forever making a living for his babies.  He always said, “My kids may not have everything, but they have a Dad who loves them more than anything.”

JJ was predeceased by his grandparents, James and Carol Dann and Willard and Helen Redhead; his uncles, Harold and David Dann, Willard Redhead Jr. and his beloved cousin, John Michael Whalen. 

JJ is survived by his parents, James L. and Jane (Redhead) Dann Sr. of Palermo; his children, Justice (Travis) England, Angelina, Madalyn, (their mother, Tracy Dann), Tristan, and Vivianne; his siblings’ Jeremy (Jessica) Dann, Jason (Kristina) Dann, and Jesse Dann; his nieces, Alyssa, Grace and Emily Dann; his nephews Kadyn and Mason Dann; and his extended family; Ericka Milburn and her children.

JJ is also survived by his aunts and uncles, Thomas (Brenda) Dann, Patricia (David) Redhead, Daniel (Mary) Dann, Gary Dann, Diane (Michael) Whalen, Judy (Tom) Crisafulli, Kim (Bruce) Cusson, Kevin (Barb) Redhead, Patty Miles, John (Mary) Milligan, and Karin Welch. He is also survived and immensely loved by all of his beloved cousins, extended family, and his closest and dearest friends.  

Calling hours will be held on Saturday, August 17, 2019, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Traub Funeral Home, 684 North Main Street, Central Square.
