John David Jones

John David Jones, 84, of West Monroe passed away on Friday following a brief illness.

   Born May 15, 1935 in Vernon, NY he was the son of the late John David Jones Sr., and Louise Avery.  David graduated from Madison High School in 1954.  He worked for Midstate/Alltel Telephone Co. for 33 years. He was member of the Central Square Lodge #622, Free and Accepted Masons, an avid hunter & long time member of the Central Square Rod & Gun Club. David was pre-deceased by two sisters, Beverly Biedermann & Barbara Butman; one brother, Richard Engle and his son Clifford Jones.

     Surviving are his daughter, Jacqueline (Phillip) McCarty; his grandchildren Phillip and Jason McCarty; Joshua and Mitchel Jones and great grandchildren, Phillip McCarty IV, Bryan McCarty, Kasi Jones, James Jones and Addison Jones; his brother Robert W. Engle; and his longtime companion of 27 years, Pat Yerton; nieces and nephews.

   Calling hours will be 5-7pm this Friday at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square, NY with Masonic services following.

   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Friends of Homeless Animals Shelter.
