Kenneth Edward Bishop, 71, of Syracuse formerly of Chittenango passed away Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Central Park Nursing Home.
Kenneth was born in Boston, MA. the son of Helen and Paul Bishop. He was a loyal Red Sox fan and hobbyist, when he wasn't working on one of the various vehicles in his neighborhood, he would spend his time building, perfecting and racing remote control cars with his son at Walt's hobby. He also enjoyed spending time at Esta safety park drag strip where he would spectate as well as participate in drag racing events, humorously earning the nickname" killer Ken with the 19.99 dial in" Ken was quietly proud of sitting in as the drummer during a concert for The Byrds in 1982. As a teenager he managed the Texaco gas station in Baldwinsville following the owners passing. Kenneth was a proud member of the Jethro Tull Fan Club, Corvette Club of CNY and National Restoration Society and Inliners International.
Kenneth is survived by two sons, Andrew (Joanna) Bishop of Bridgeport and Justin Bishop of Utica, three grandchildren; Alexis, Cassidy and Justin.
Services will be held at 7:00 PM Wednesday, August 14, 2019 at Traub Funeral Home, 7975 Rt 31, Bridgeport, NY. Calling hours will be from 5-7 PM preceding the service.
