Martin O. Pope, Sr.

Martin O. Pope, Sr., 51, of Central Square passed away on Sunday, July 29, 2018 with his loving family by his side. 
 
Born on August 18, 1966 to the late James and Diane (Sanford) Pope in Syracuse, NY; Marty attended Canastota Central School up until 1979 and then attended schools in Syracuse. After his schooling, he helped to raised three children and had a couple of his own. Marty was known as wanderer, you never knew where to find him. He enjoyed going to the park, sledding in the winter, and doing just about anything with his children and family.
 
Surviving are five brothers: James Pope, David (Lori) Pope, Sr., Michael (Amber) Pope, Steven (Nikki Mattson) Pope, Todd (Belinda) Pope; three sisters: Betty (David) Mills, Dawn (Jeremiah) Preeman, Heather (Thomas Bettis) Pope. His children: Cheyenne Wright, Mandy Pope, Penny Taylor, Missy Blackman, Bonnie Taylor, Martin Pope, Jr., and Jasmine Pope. Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 
 
Marty was predeceased by his granddaughter, Miranda Pope; his parents Diane Sanford, James and Melissa Pope. 
 
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2018 from 2:00 PM – 4:00 PM at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square.
