Sharon A. Smith, 73, of Central Square, passed away on Friday, October 27, 2017, surrounded by her family.

Born in Fulton to the late Lloyd and Madeline (O'Brien) Smith, Sharon co-owned and operated North Pole Ice Cream shop in Bridgeport with her partner of 33 years, Michele Medlong.  Sharon enjoyed vacationing in Atlantic City and Vegas.  She especially liked taking cruises and spending time by the ocean. We will sadly miss her smiling face, caring heart, and her great sense of humor.

Sharon is survived by her partner Michele Medlong; children Craig (Loretta) Acker, Jeaninne (Richard) Whelsky, Janette (Mark) Gray, Jason Acker, and William III (Sallie) Acker; sister Carol (Lawrence) Thompson, Brother Robert Smith (Maria); 13 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; four nieces; and one nephew.

Services will be held privately at the wishes of the family.
