Addelin G. Root

Addelin G. Root or better known as Addie was born July 17, 1946 in Syracuse, NY. She met her husband Lester of 55 years in high school. In earlier years Addie and her husband enjoyed riding motorcycles with their friends. Her dream was to be a mother, together they had four children. 

She was a homemaker and a craftswoman. Her nicknames were “crafty lady” and “mom” by many neighbor kids and friends. You could always go to her for the best advice. She was full of knowledge. She loved spending time with family and her dog Herky. She enjoyed painting and gardening with her family, but most of all baking with her grandkids. Holidays she would decorate her house inside and out. She also loved to listen to country music, swing on the back porch and swimming. 

Addie was predeceased by her husband Lester M. Root. She is survived by daughters Christine Root; Trisha (Edward) Bartlett; Sonia (James) Ramie and son Lester S. (Kathy) Root, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. 

Calling Hours will be Saturday July 15 from 10:00a.m. to 12:00pm.m at Traub Funeral Home Inc., 684 N. Main Street, Central Square, NY 13036.

A funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00p.m.

A graveside service will be held at Pine Grove-Mallory Cemetery.
