Agnes M. Heins, 84, of Constantia, NY joined the angels in Heaven on Thursday October 12,
2023, at 9:00AM surrounded by her loving family.
Agnes was born in Port Glasgow, Scotland in 1939. She left her family to emigrate to the
United States in 1957 to work as an Au Pair for a family in Fayetteville, NY. Agnes enrolled
and graduated from Central City Business Institute. She was employed as a secretary at Amica
Insurance Company.
Agnes was married to Paul (Bud) Heins in 1961. They had 4 children: Jack (Linda) Heins,
Karen Heins/Connors, Paul (Jim) Heins and Kim Heins. 6 Grandchildren: Brittany, Heather
(Molly and Finegan), Daniel, Mike, Dawson and Chase. 2 Great Grandchildren: Kai and
Emerson.
Agnes was co-owner of the Rainbow and Plaza Laundromats in Oswego, NY. In 1977, Agnes
and her husband opened Paul’s Big M in Oswego, NY. In 1996 Agnes became a United States
citizen. She retired from Paul’s Big M in 1999, when the store was sold to her daughters.
Agnes enjoyed going on cruises with her family, boating on Oneida lake, following her
grandson’s quarter midget racing and hosting parties/family at her Oneida lake home.
The bagpipes were played by her eldest son as Agnes was carried out of her “Dream Home”
overlooking Oneida Lake.
Agnes requested to have no calling hours or funeral services. Her family will gather to honor her
memory at a future date.
