Ann Hamilton Woods, 92, of Cicero New York, passed away peacefully on February 18th, 2026 at the Cottages in Cicero, New York. Born on August 2nd, 1933 in Stamford, New York to Fred B. and Mira Smith Hamilton, Ann was a loving mother and grandmother.
She graduated from Grand Gorge Central Schools and St. Lawrence University. She spent 30 years as a schoolteacher, mostly in the Central Square School District, in the Brewerton and Constantia elementary schools. Ann will be remembered for her love of family, dedication to teaching, involvement with her kids, and Christian faith. She was active in many church
groups, and was the organist at Brewerton United Methodist Church for many years. She was always in attendance at band and “Believers” concerts, and uncounted sporting events for her kids and grandkids. In retirement, she was an avid quilter, SU Basketball fan, and stayed in touch with other retired teachers. Her greatest joy in retirement was her six grandchildren.
She was married to Chuck Woods from 1957 until his death in 2013. Many of her favorite memories involved getting together with the extended Hamilton side of the family. She was also very blessed to be included in the extended Wallon Family. She was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Mira Hamilton, her husband Charles Woods, her brother and sister-in-law Jim and Jean Hamilton, and her daughter-in-law, Mary Jo Woods.
She is survived by her children, Cathy (Tony) Wallon, Thomas Hamilton Woods (Linda Pearson); her grandchildren, Ryan (Biz) Durling, Mike and Becca Wallon, Alex (Rapha), Andrew and Emory Woods; and her great grandchildren Mackenzie, George, and Hank.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at the Cottages (House 21) for their loving care of Ann for the past 2 years.
Visitation will be held on Saturday March 21st 2026, at Brewerton United Methodist Church from 10:00am to 11:00am with the funeral service to follow immediately at 11:00am. The church is located at 5395 Orangeport Road, Brewerton, New York 13029.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial donations be made to support Alzheimer’s research and caregiver support in Ann’s honor.
