Anthony "Tony" Liepke, 87, of Central Square, passed away peacefully on November 25, 2021 with loving family by his side.
Born on February 19, 1934 on the West side of Syracuse, Tony joined the USAF in 1952 and was honorably discharged in 1956 as Airman 1st Class and Crew Chief of B-47 Bombers (SAC). He started and owned several barber shops on the N. side of Syracuse from 1956 until 1968. He worked for Chrysler Corp. as a Union Rep. until his early retirement in 1984. Tony then moved to Clayton, NY and started his own business as a hot dog vendor in 1984, with his wife Peggy, until 1999. In 2001 he opened a barber shop in his home on Oneida Lake until 2011 and eventually settled in Central Square in 2012. Tony traveled to many countries around the world with his wife. They were snowbirds to a home in Fort Meyers, FL for 32 years.
Tony leaves behind his loving and caring wife Peggy of 40 years; sons Mark (Michelle) and Michael (Debra); daughter Tracy; stepdaughter Janice Rood (Nolie LaValley); sister Helen (Dick) Lynch; along with many nieces, nephews, and grandkids.
