Betty Mae Goessl, 93, of Hastings, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, July 20, 2025.
Born on April 16, 1932, Betty was the quintessential picture of grace, love, beauty, and strength. Though small in stature, she was a force to be reckoned with, possessing an immense capacity for love that she shared freely with everyone around her. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life, like cheering on her beloved Yankees, watching for hummingbirds, and making coffee for visitors – a gesture of warmth and welcome that became her signature.
Betty's enduring legacy is the incredible family she built with her husband of 69 years, Kenneth R. Goessl. Together, they raised six children: Robert (Dana) Goessl, Mike (Kandie) Goessl, Stanley (Kris) Goessl, Gaynl Kohler, Janice Corsette, and Karen (Larry) White. Her love extended to 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and at least two generations of nieces and nephews. Beyond her immediate family, Betty and Kenneth were cherished by countless individuals who lovingly called them Mom and Dad, Gram and Gramps, Aunt and Uncle, neighbor, friend, and family.
Betty was predeceased by both of her parents, all 12 of her siblings, her youngest son, Stanley, in 2018 & her husband, Kenneth, in 2021.
Anyone fortunate enough to have known Betty will miss her dearly. Her family encourages all who wish to honor her memory to do so by offering someone you love a cup of coffee and a smile, just as she so often did.
An open service and celebration of Betty's life will be held on Friday, August 1st, from 1-5 PM at Life Church, 2363 NY-49, West Monroe, NY 13167. Please come and share a story in Betty’s honor.
