Carol Sterling Obituary

Carol M. Sterling, 81, of Bernhards Bay passed away at home on Wednesday February 26, 2025 with her husband and family by her side.

A Celebration of Carol’s life will be held in the spring.

Carol was born in Rochester on March 05, 1943 to the late Bernard and Florence Burton. She graduated from East High School in 1961 and married Ronald Sterling on June 02, 1962 in Rochester. The two raised their family together in Bernhards Bay. She was a lifetime member of the Order of the Eastern Star.

Carol was one of the very first employees of Schneider Packaging in Brewerton, NY. She dedicated over 35 years to the company and when she retired, they sent her and Ron on a well deserved trip to Scotland.

Carol always had “wandering feet”. She loved to travel. Notable trips included Harley Davidson rides out west, visiting Ireland, and taking her grandchildren to Disney World. Ron and Carol also had their “spouse house”, a camper they took on various escapades.

Carol’s kind and gentle personality will be eternally missed. Her home and family were her greatest joy. She was a proud and dedicated wife, mother and grandma, always more than happy to spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. They will forever remember going on walks, and camping out in the living room at grandma’s house.

Besides her parents, Carol is predeceased by her mother and father in law; Dillie & Delos Sterling.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband of over 62 years; Ron Sterling, her children; Leon (Rick) & Terri Sterling and Randy & Theresa Sterling, her grandchildren; Amanda, Randy Jr. and Corey Sterling, bonus grandchildren; Spring, Michael, Jesse and Katelyn, her great grandchildren; Walter and Wade Sterling; bonus great grandchild; David as well as several nieces and nephews.

A special Thank You to Cassie and Sue at Hospice of CNY, as well as the Traub Funeral Home staff.
