Carolyn (Majchrzak) Macdonell

Carolyn Macdonell, 85, passed away peacefully at home with her family by her side on May 03, 2022. She is predeceased by her parents, Mary and John Majchrzak, her sister Theresa Abbott, and her daughter Kelly Macdonell. She is survived by her devoted husband of 65 years, James Macdonell, and her many children: Catherine Kabanek and husband John, twins Diane and Deborah Macdonell, Patricia Macdonell and husband Tim, Karen Cordi and husband Joe, Stefanie Blickensdorf and husband Rob, Mary McGlasson and husband Jim, Jerry Macdonell and wife Belinda, Shannon Dia, and Heather Macdonell, as well as their children and grandchildren. 

Carolyn enjoyed her time after raising her children by making crafts, playing scrabble, and operating as first mate on their boat. She loved shopping, and would show her impeccable style with the clothes she wore. Carolyn loved her husband Jim unconditionally, giving him a “Happy 13th” card every month. She loved flowers, and always made sure the kitchen table had a bouquet on display to brighten the room for all to enjoy. 

After retirement, she would take advantage of the pleasant days at their lake home by sitting on the deck overlooking the water, and appreciating the quiet moments with her husband. We will miss her greatly.

Mass will be offered at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 28th at St. Francis of Assisi of Bridgeport Church at the parish center: 7820 Route 298, Bridgeport, NY 13030. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
