Chad T. Thurston, age 50 of Oswego, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 14th 2024.
Visitation will be held at Traub Funeral Home in Bridgeport, NY on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 from 10:00AM-12:00PM, with a service at 12:00PM. Chad will be laid to rest immediately following at Bridgeport Cemetery.
He was born on February 1st, 1974 in Syracuse, NY, son of Norman Thurston Sr. and Theresa W. Merritt. Chad received his education in the North Syracuse Schools. He spent his younger years doing contractor work. He was a past member of the Brigdeport and East Syracuse Fire Departments until his health declined.
Chad was an avid fisherman and loved being outdoors. His children and family were his life. He enjoyed being a father amd only spoke highly of his kids. He had many friends at The Gardens where he resided.
Survivors include his beloved family; his children; Chelsea Thurston, Jordan Thurston and Hailey Thurston, all of Cleveland, NY, his father; Norman W. Merritt of Bridgeport, siblings; Michael Charboneau of Auburn, Deborah Klahs and husband Spikeof Canastota, Eric Charboneau of Baldwinsville, James Merritt and his wife Elizabeth of Wolcott, his twin brother; Brad Thurston of Auburn, Pamela Youmans of Lakeport, Amanda Merritt of Bridgeport and Sabrina Thurston of Watertown. Chad also leaves behind his soulmate; Laurie Presley of Oswego, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his biological father Norman Thurston Sr, his mother, Theresa W. Merritt, brothers; Norman W. Merritt Jr. , David J. Merritt, Norman Thurston Jr. and his sister; Ruth Thurston.
The family would like to thank all of the staff at The Gardens. especially his two favorite nurses; Kelly and Michelle.
