Charles Taylor, Age 83 passed away peacefully, with his loving wife, by his side on Wednesday, April 19, 2023. He is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Iva (Mitchell) Taylor: three children, Timothy Taylor, Terri (Jeff) Yoder and Tammy (David) Korpiel: seven grandchildren, Kari DeGilio, Robert Taylor, Patrick (Carolyn) Mantz, Michael Taylor, Ben Korpiel, Megan Korpiel, and Jared Yoder: Two great grandchildren, Freddy and Henry Mantz.
Charles was born in Potsdam, NY on 10/29/1939, and was the son of Robert and Lillian (Stone) Taylor.
He attended St. Lawrence County schools and was a graduate of Knox Memorial class of 1958. Charles worked as a Millwright for Nestles Chocolate factory for many years until his retirement in 2001. In his retirement, He enjoyed spending time with his family, “puttering” in his barn, driving his tractor, cutting loads and loads of firewood, camping, and watching his grand children participate in sporting events.
He was a devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather, He was a fun loving Uncle and Brother in law to several nieces, nephews, and extended family. His daily neighborhood “rounds” on his tractor will be missed by many.
In keeping with his wishes, of no services, a Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, April 28,2023 at 2:00 pm at Traditions at the Links, 5900 North Burdick Street, East Syracuse, New York 13057. All are welcome to attend.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Greater Canandaigua Civic Center, 350 North Bloomfield Road, Canandaigua, NY 14424.
