1937 ~ 2024 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Charlotte Eckert Obituary

Charlotte A. Eckert, 86, passed away Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at her home, surrounded by loved ones.

Visitation will be held at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square on Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 3:00PM to 6:00PM, with a memorial service at 5:30PM. Charlotte will be laid to rest with her husband; Dan at Pennellville Cemetery in the spring.

Charlotte was born to the late William and Dorothy Geller in East Syracuse, on June 07, 1937. She graduated from Central Square High school, and married Daniel Eckert Sr. in 1955 at the Caughdenoy Methodist Church.

At Charlotte and Dan’s home, there was a revolving open door, and a bottomless coffee pot. Charlotte was everyone’s Grandma; she always worried about the well being of others. She had a big heart, and showed her love through her cooking; always known for her homemade bread and famous apple pie. If you left Grandma’s house hungry, it was your own fault. Her kitchen table was the place for family meals, warm conversation, and playing card games like pinochle.

Predeceasing Charlotte besides her parents is her husband of 44 years; Daniel Eckert Sr., her son; Douglas Eckert, infant daughter; Dorene Eckert; her siblings; Greg Geller, Bill Geller, Earl Geller, Arlene Geller, Ella Wooton, and Joan Bell, as well as a daughter in law; Ronalee Eckert.

She is survived by her children; Daniel “John” Eckert, David Eckert, Dallas (Lori) Eckert, Darrell Eckert, Debra Leonard, Dorothea (Bill) Gleason, Margaret (Roy) Andrews, Dawn Eckert, Ann Regan and Diane Harold, her grandchildren; Thomas Andrews, Julene Andrews, Curtis Andrews, Daniel Eckert III, Andrew Eckert, Kaylee Eckert, Sean Eckert, Karl Eckert, Elizabeth Snow, Donald Adams, Stephanie Covington, Fred Eckert, Thomas Eckert, Joseph Eckert, David Harold, Savannah Harold, Ethan Taylor, Sarah Taylor, William Gleason, Ashley Gleason, Bobbie-ann Kearney, as well as a legacy of great grandchildren, extended family, and friends.
