Colleen L. (Barnes) Brand

Colleen L. Barnes Brand, 68 of Pulaski, New York. Previously of Clay, New York. Colleen passed  peacefully on Saturday, October 5, 2024 at her home surrounded by family and loved ones following a brief but courageous battle with cancer. Born May 24, 1956 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Bill and Virginia Cardamone Barnes. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by a brother, Jan Barnes and a sister, Margie Barnes.

Primarily a mom and homemaker, she worked at Learn As You Grow and Child Time as a Pre-Kindergarten teacher. Colleen loved her immediate and extended family very much, always happy and smiling. One of her most memorable traits was the availability to help anyone in need whenever possible.  Her greatest joy in life was the time she spent with her beloved grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, especially helping homeschool Kaylissa with her mom Jessica. A lover of animals she spent many hours enjoying her “fur babies,” horses, dogs, bunnies.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Walter L. Brand; son, Walter Jeremy Brand; daughter, Jessica Brand and partner Dave; grandchildren; Walter “Zach.” and partner Ashleigh, Zoe, Zaylee, Kaylissa, Aydan and Zeydan; great-grandchildren; Remi and Charlie; brother-in-law Rod (Marion) Brand; sister-in-law; several nieces and a nephew.

Walt, Jeremy and Jessica would like to formally acknowledge mom’s dearest "sister" friends, Carolyn Ryan, Rosalyn Edwards and Joyce DeVaul; with a heartfelt Thank You for all the help, love, care and support for us and Colleen these past several weeks and additional thanks to Paul and Lori Joynt for the unconditional support.

In accordance with Colleens wishes there will be no calling hours or formal services at this time.
