Colleen Marie Cleeton

Colleen Marie Cleeton, 61, of Camillus, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Upstate Community Hospital, surrounded by her family.

She was born in Syracuse on September 1, 1959 and graduated from Corcoran High School.  She had a real eye for design and was hired to decorate the Fresno’s in the Syracuse and Rochester areas.  Colleen lived in Las Vegas and Georgia, before settling in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.  She met her former husband, Frank Garcia and he helped her set up a floral design business named “Flowers by Ellen”.  She was very successful and her arrangements were unique and beautiful.  Those led her to her employment with a funeral home in Ft. Lauderdale.  She eventually moved back to Syracuse to be with family.  She had recently been employed with Ulta Beauty and Lowe’s Home Improvement. 

Colleen was predeceased by her mother, Carol Cleeton and her father, Walter Cleeton and also by her beloved nephew, Spencer Williams.  She is survived by her sisters, Barbara (Joseph) Farino, Stephanie (Doug Cummo) Ritchey, Janet (Chris) Williams, Marcia (John) Marris and brother, Jeff Cleeton; many aunts, uncles and cousins.  She is also survived by twelve nieces and nephews and their spouses, along with twelve great nieces and nephews. 

The family would like to give an enormous thank you to the ICU Nurses and Staff at Upstate Community Hospital for their care and compassion.  Also, a special thank you to her niece, Sarah O’Connell, for taking care of Colleen.

Services are private and a Celebration of Colleen’s life will take place at the family’s home on September 11, 2021.  In lieu of floral offerings, kindly consider and send contributions to Clear Path for Veterans, 1223 Salt Springs Rd, Chittenango, NY 13037.  Arrangements are entrusted into the care of Traub Funeral Home, Inc., 684 N.
