Debra Lee (Jordan) Phinney, 69, of Phoenix, New York passed away Thursday, December 14, 2023, at Upstate University Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on April 11, 1954, in Harlingen, Texas to the late William Lee Jordan and Peggy Joyce Knight.
Her father was a USAF mechanic who passed when she was three years old. Her mother remarried and her family lived on various military bases in the South until
they settled in East Syracuse, New York, which was the home of her stepfather Arthur Pilch. Debra was a 1973 graduate of East Syracuse Minoa High School. Debra married Garry Phinney of Phoenix, New York on February 22, 1975, and made a home on the Phinney farm in Phoenix New York.
She was a mother, homemaker, and an avid reader who possessed skilled and artistic hands. She was an accomplished seamstress, who could
make and mend clothes. Debra hand made her and her daughter’s wedding dresses and embellished them with crochet lace. Debra could make anything with a crochet hook and yarn, producing countless baby outfits and afghans for family and friends. She made beautiful doll clothes with scrap fabric, yarn, and thread which was a delight for her daughter and friends.
She is survived by her husband Garry W.
