Denise M. Ely

Denise Ely died on Wednesday, July 17, 2024 at her home in Brewerton. 

Denise was born in Syracuse on August 10, 1954. She is predeceased by her parents; Audrey and Harold Castleman,  and her sister; Lori Ann. Denise is survived by her sons; Ronny and Eric Ely, her grandchildren; Duystn (Rose) Ely and Audrey Ely, her great grandchildren; Oliver and Claire Ely, as well as her siblings; Sandra (Bill) Whittaker of Brewerton, Mitchell Castleman of Ottawa, Illinois, Elizabeth Castleman of Oswego, Martin (Terry) Castleman of Heritage, Pennsylvania, and Matthew Castleman of Liverpool.

Denise attended Central Square Schools. She worked in food service, and in many local restaurants over the years. She had many friends and genuinely enjoyed being with others and having a good time.

Her favorite love in her life was her family. Her sons, grand children great grandchildren and siblings as well as other family members meant the most to her.

Denise always reached out to others. One of her favorite things to do was to get everyone together and make dinner. She would make her roast beef dinner and mac and cheese, which everyone always requested. 

We love you Denise, and we will miss you forever.

There will be no services per Denise’s request. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
