Diane Rhein, 86, of Central Square, died peacefully in her sleep on December 14, 2021. She was born in Syracuse, to the late Joseph and Mary (Rhode) Andrews. Diane graduated from Phoenix High School as Salutatorian in 1952. She was also voted Prom Queen and Best Dressed in 1952. The youngest of nine children, she is predeceased by siblings Bernard (Verna), Loretta (Frances) Delaney, Joseph (Ruth), Eleanor (Clifton) Van Tassel, David (Nancy), Ronald (Elizabeth), Robert (Katherine) and Marlene (James) Harrington. Also predeceased by daughter Bethe Brigante. Diane is survived by sons Richard Hamilton of Micanopy, FL, William (Haru) Hamilton of Westchester, NY and Robert (Christine) Hamilton of Baldwinsville, NY; grandchildren JC, aka John Claude, (Janine) Brigante, Erika Brigante, Benjamin Hamilton, Max Hamilton, Gavin Hamilton and Rowan Hamilton and great grandson Nevin Brigante. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Diane retired from Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield in 1997 where she worked as a data processor. She loved all animals and her pet cats and dogs over the years. She also especially loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Calling hours will be Saturday 12/18/21 from 11 AM- 1 PM, with a short memorial service at 1 PM.
