Donald Stanley Fairbrother, 68, of Fulton, NY, passed away Monday, June 7 unexpectedly at home.
Don retired from Anaren Microwave (TTM Technologies) with over 40 years of service. He also served for 28 years in the United States Air National Guard 174th Fighter Wing and retired as a Master Sergeant. Following in his father’s footsteps, he served as a volunteer firefighter with the Cody Fire Department. Don was an avid collector of all things antique, including farm equipment. He enjoyed painting, as well as tending to his large vegetable and flower gardens. Don loved and appreciated the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved nothing more than hosting family gatherings, spending time with his beloved dogs and long walks in the woods. He was great at making the best of any situation.
Donald is predeceased by his parents, Richard and Bernice Fairbrother and his brother, Carl Fairbrother. He is survived by his children, Sandra (Joshua) Laden, Jeffrey (Sarah) Fairbrother and David (Bree Lyons) Fairbrother; and loving Pop Pop to Morgan, Carter, Abigail and Madyson Laden, and Daiya, Emery and Elyza Fairbrother. He is also survived by brothers Rick (Rita) Fairbrother, and Ed Fairbrother; sister Susan Nowak; sister-in-law Elinor Fairbrother; former spouse Stephanie Clonan; and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, June 11th, 4-6pm, at Traub Funeral Home, 684 N. Main St., Central Square, NY. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will take place on Saturday, June 12th, 11am, at Jacksonville Cemetery.
