Edith Stoeckl Obituary
Edith W. Stoeckl, 92, of Bridgeport, NY, passed away on December 4, 2022 after a long battle
with Alzheimer’s.
Edith was born on July 1930 to Werner and Gertrude Bruckner in Brooklyn, NY.
In 1951, Edith met Guenther Stoeckl, and they wed in 1953, going on to have five children,
Anita, Walter, Lori, Eric, and Elka.
When Edith had Anita, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful
mother. Edith excelled at running a busy household, she was an excellent cook, a tireless worker
that would do whatever was necessary to support and provide for her family. In her life she
gardened and canned many foods to stretch a limited budget, made clothes for her children, and
worked parttime jobs to ensure the family experienced numerous trips and vacations. As a
grandmother she frequently cared for her grandchildren often taking them on vacation trips.
Edith was predeceased by her parents, husband Guenther, daughter Anita, and brother Martin.
She is survived by her children Walter (Cathy), Lori (Kathy), Eric, Elka, and six grandchildren,
and eight great grandchildren.
The family requests that donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association in lieu of flowers. A
Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, Dec. 9, 2022 at Traub Funeral Home,
