Erika Lee Edinger was a caring mother, sister, daughter, nurse, and friend. She was born on October 15, 1976 and left this world suddenly on February 2, 2024 at age 47. She was born to Frederick and Margaret Edinger on October 15, 1976 in Syracuse, NY. Erika has worked as an LPN for 13 years, loving and caring for her residents as if they were her own family. In 2022 she received the “Employee of Distinction” award in recognition of her dedication to and exemplary care for the residents at St. Luke’s Nursing home. Erika was predeceased by her father, Frederick Edinger. She is survived by her son, Nicholas McCarty, her mother Margaret Campbell, her eight siblings, Daniel L. Edinger (Antonia), Kassandra Edinger (Patrick Hart), Frederick Edinger, Anna Revette (Scott), Jacob Edinger (Dena), Alexander Edinger, Michael Edinger (Kaelee), and Johnathan Edinger, as well as many loving nieces and nephews. Although Erika loved her calling as a nurse, nothing was more important to her than family. Erika loved her son, Nicholas, fiercely and she was notoriously proud of her role as the oldest of nine siblings. Her departure is gravely felt by her entire family and countless others who loved her deeply in her wide-network of community. The family appreciates the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time.
