Francis E. "Frank" Burns

Francis E. “Frank” Burns, 58, lifelong resident of the Central Square area passed away suddenly with his wife by his side on Monday, February 03 2025 following a previous severe accidental injury, several complications and concurrent illnesses.

Visitation will be held on Thursday May 22, 2025 at Traub Funeral Home in Central Square from 2:00PM - 4:00PM, with a concluding service. 

Frank was born on October 10, 1966 in Oswego, NY. His parents were Edwin and Lydia Burns. He graduated from high school, completed vocational training, and married Kristel Edwards in Pennellville, NY on July 25, 1993.

Frank worked in property maintenance for many years before finding his passion as a Diesel Mechanic, most recently employed by Van Santis Development Inc. in Liverpool, NY. He loved his job, and cared greatly for the friends he worked with.

Frank loved life and spent his best years with his family living a country life where he spent as much time as he could outdoors, watching the birds and wildlife, mowing the lawn, spending time with his pets or doing some woodworking, he especially enjoyed having a beer with family and friends over a game or some cards. His easy going personality and sense of humor will be deeply missed.

Frank is survived by his devoted wife; Kristel, his stepson; Jeremy Snyder, his sisters; Roxana (Ned) Green, Beverly Lusky (Jerry Beaulieu), Alice (Al) Sheerer and Edwina Dirda, as well as several nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He is predeceased by his parents. Donations in Frank’s honor can be made to the American Heart Association.
