Gary A. Barkley

Gary A. Barkley, 64, of Central Square, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2026, after a brief illness.

He was born on September 02, 1961, to the late Martha and Albert Barkley. He was married to Shari Barkley, who predeceased him. Gary was a million-mile driver for JB Hunt Transportation, and also a driver trainer there for several years. Prior to JB Hunt, he worked building houses. 

In his free time, Gary enjoyed gardening, camping, and spending time with family and his grandchildren. 

Gary is predeceased by his parents; Albert and Martha, his wife; Shari, his brothers; Walter and Larry, and his brother-in-law, Clarence (BJ) Richards.

Surviving is his sons; Joshua (Kristen), Jonathan and Jordan (Victoria), his girlfriend of 28 years; Marybeth Gunn, his grandchildren; Aiden, Ryleigh, JJ, Carter, and Aubree, his siblings; Frank (Linda), Michael (Diana), Richard (Debbie), Valerie (Robert) Snider, Julie (Ken) Chapman, and Lisa Richards as well as many nieces, nephews and extended friends and family. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, June 07, 2026 at the Hastings-Parish VFW Post 8823 from 1:00PM - 4:00PM for immediate family and close friends.
