Gary Cinqmars, age 71, of Constantia, New York, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, surrounded by his family at Crouse Memorial Hospital.
Born on January 14, 1955, in Syracuse, New York he was the beloved son of Paul “Bud” and Shirley Cinqmars. He grew up in Eastwood and spent his summers in Constantia, where he met the love of his life. Gary built his life centered on hard work, loyalty, and a deep love for his entire family.
Gary was a devoted husband to Sharel Cinqmars for 51 years. Together they built a life full of memories, laughter, and unwavering partnership. He was a proud and loving father to Brian Cinqmars and Bridget (Nicholas) Grosso, and nothing meant more to him than his family. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Noelle Novakowski, Gavin Trumble, Amelia and Dominick Grosso. His presence and love will forever live on in their hearts.
Gary worked as an Office Manager at Loomis for 29 years before retiring. Beyond his work, he loved spending time with his family, riding ATVs, fishing, cooking on his grill, and enjoying his PBRs. He will be remembered most for telling stories from his past while sitting with a cold PBR in hand.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharel Cinqmars; his children, Brian Cinqmars and Bridget (Nicholas) Grosso; his grandchildren, Gavin (Morgan Trumble), Noelle (Will Sterriker), Amelia Grosso, and Dominick Grosso; his sister, Paula (Larry Hoffman); and many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was predeceased by his parents and his brother, Daniel Cinqmars.
Calling hours will be held at Traub Funeral Home, Inc., 684 North Main Street, Central Square, New York on Monday, February 16, 2026 from 4:00–6:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the local SPCA.
Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort knowing his love remains with us always.
