George "Murphy" E. Files

George Edmond “Murphy” Files passed away with his loved ones by his side on Saturday, May 2, 2026.

He was born on May 10, 1957.

George has been married to his wife Katherine for 43 years and counting.

Some of his enjoyments in life were playing horseshoes, golfing, the Boston Red Sox, the NY Giants, and spending time with his family especially his kids, grandchildren, and great- grandchildren.

George is predeceased by his mother, Dorothy Balintfy; father-in-law, Richard Waldau Sr.; sister-in-law, Judith Waldau; and nephew, Michael Waldau.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Files; children, Jim (Sarah) Files, Jennifer (Richard Cunningham) Files, and Rockie (Terry Engebretsen) Files;  grandchildren, Jordyn Files, Jackson Files, Sophia Kinney, Katherine Kinney, Hailey Gladle, Zoey Gladle, Mikaya Gladle, Harper Gladle, Gianna Cunningham, Richard Cunningham, Leavanna Cunningham, Rocky Files, Richard Pontello, and Izabella Pontello; great-grandchildren, Brantley Shantel and Oaklyn Shantel; mother-in-law, Thola Waldau; brothers-in-law, Richard (Marianne Dolly) Waldau Jr., Donald (Phyllis) Waldau, Robert Waldau, John (Debbie) Waldau, and Frederick (Michelle) Waldau; siblings, Sherry Mccurtain, Martin Balintfy, and Kelly Balintfy; and along his pal, Hemi.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at the Constantia VFW Pavillon from 12:00pm - ???? There will be a horseshoe tournament to honor Murph and it will be a random draw.
