In Loving Memory of Grace Sarah Stewart-

On August 9, 2025, our beloved Grace Sarah Stewart, 70, passed away peacefully at Morningstar Rehabilitation Care Center in Oswego, New York, after a brave and courageous battle with cancer. She was surrounded by her beloved family who will deeply miss her.

Funeral services for Grace Stewart will be held at Traub Funeral Home in Bridgeport, NY (7975 Route 31, Bridgeport NY 13030) on Saturday September 13, 2025 at 10am followed by a processional and services at Assumption Cemetery. Reservations have been made for family and friends for lunch at Twin Trees Too restaurant located at: 1029 Milton Avenue Syracuse, NY 13204 for: 12:15PM.

Family and friends are asked to please RSVP their availability to attend the lunch at Twin Trees Too by texting to Grace's sister, Janine at: 910-616-2884 to confirm your availability to attend the lunch. 

Grace's favorite color was purple. The family would like to invite you to join them in wearing some type of apparel with the color purple to join them in remembering Grace, and honoring her by wearing the color purple.

Grace was born and raised in Syracuse, the second daughter of Sarah Stewart and Frederick Charles Stewart.

She was predeceased by her parents and her brother, Frederick Charles Stewart Jr. She leaves behind her daughter, Stephanie Ann DeRochie; her sister, Janine Marie Stewart Olkowski (Dennis Michael Olkowski); granddaughters Caydence Grace DeRochie-Carpenter, Sophia Brielle Wettering, and Kalleena Louella Allen; her forthcoming grandson; her nephew Jason Dennis Olkowski (Erin Olkowski), her nieces Melanie Sarah Olkowski, Rebekah Ann Olkowski Aaby (Erik Aaby) and multiple first cousins on her maternal grandmother’s side.

Grace’s Christian faith was an anchor and guiding light for her whole life and she rarely missed a Sunday service. Her joy was found in her family, shopping for her grandchildren, celebrating life’s moments with her daughter, and enjoying her treasured annual visits with her sister who resides out of state in NC. Grace also appreciated the love and support she received over the years from her first cousins who reside in Syracuse.

Her family wishes to sincerely thank the staff and doctors at Morningstar Rehabilitation Care Center located in Oswego, NY for their compassion care,, and support during Grace’s final days.
