Herbert "Skip" Carter Jr.

 ​ Herbert “Skip” Carter, 85, passed away peacefully on April 7, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

A lifelong resident of Bridgeport, New York, Skip built a life centered around  family, farming and friendship.

 He married the love of his life, Lynda Carter (McFall) on June 4, 1966 and built a beautiful life with her over the last 59 years. 

Skip was a proud and loving father to John Carter (Dana), Debra Wilke (Tim), and Jill Gozzi (Lucian). He was predeceased by his daughter, Jennifer Carter-Van Gorden, whom he carried in his heart always.

He was also a cherished grandfather to Joseph Carter (Liz), Meghan Carter (John), Tyler Spaulding, Carter Gozzi, Aiden Gozzi, and great grand-daughter Morrigan Carter. His grandchildren brought him immense pride and joy, and he treasured the time spent with each of them.

Skip will be remembered for  his dedication to those he loved, and the life he built in the place he always called home. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the many lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
