James Balla Obituary

James E. Balla, 91, of Central Square, passed away on January 29, 2021. He was born in Buffalo, NY on June 23, 1929 to the late Stephen and the late Elizabeth (Szaniszlo) Balla. James was preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey, in 1983; his son, James Balla;; step son, Charles Billings; grandson, Chris Billings; siblings, Joseph, Stephen, Frank, Lilian, and Margaret.

James was a Maintenance Engineer for Loblaws Bakery in Buffalo, NY prior to moving to the Syracuse area. He then worked for Penny Curtis Bakery in Syracuse and the Central Square School District before retiring. James enjoyed bowling, fishing, horseshoes, and loved to play golf. He loved spending time with his family and pets while listening to George Jones and drinking his Cherry Brandy.

James is survived by his wife, Martha I. (Benedict) Balla; children, Deborah (Francis) Fischer, Sally (Richard) Harvey, Kevin (Pauline) Balla, Cynthia (Rex) Lashua, Rodney (Gina) Balla, Catherine (William) Noel; daughter-in-law, Patricia Balla; grandchildren, Chrissy, Wayne, Dalton, Christina, Katrina, Kimberly, Jennifer, Jesse, Lorenzo, Vincent, Johnathon, James, Tricia, Jodie, and Casey; and 10 great grandchildren.
