James R. Burke

James R. Burke, 77, lifelong resident of Syracuse died June 25, 2020.

James married Marion Margetin, who passed just four days prior on June 21, 2020. The couple would have celebrated 52 years of wedded bliss on June 29th, 2020. They were lifelong members of Wetzel Road Church of Christ in Liverpool. Both were active members of the church attending services faithfully and volunteering at Camp Hunt. They found joy in helping and serving others in the church and community. James was a member of the Teamsters Union working for several trucking companies.

They are survived by daughter, Karen Baker; son, Jerry Burke and his wife, Leigh Ann. Three granddaughters, Ashley Levering and her husband, Ben Levering, Alexis Diaz, and Mary White. One great-grandson, Luke Levering. James is also survived by his brother, Mike Burke; and sister, Ginny Burke.

As my dad would say, “At least we didn’t get the Corona.” As mom would say, “Jim stop that. God bless.”

The couple will be interred together at White Chapel Memory Gardens, DeWitt. Services are private.
