James P. Chappell

James P. Chappell, 85, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2022 at Upstate Hospital.

James was born November 27, 1936 to James R. and Grace (Lawyer) Chappell and grew up on the north side of Syracuse. He started his career as Store Manager of Loblaws where he met the love of his life, Sharon (Hughes) Chappell and then went on to work for Tiptop Bakery and Stroehmann until his retirement in 1997. He was an avid golfer and member of Wanoa Golf Course.

James is predeceased by his wife Sharon; parents; and brother Robert. He is survived by sons William, Thomas, and James Chappell; daughters Lynn (John) DeSiato and Julie Wood; sister Karen Chappell Bognacki; grandson James Chappell; granddaughters Jessica and Alyssa DeSiato, Cali (Tyler) Blakeman, Madison Wood, and Kemryn and Skylar Chappell; great-grandson Theo Blakeman; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 10th, from 9:30 am to 11 am, at St. Francis of Assisi Church, 7820 Rt. 298, Bridgeport, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery in Minoa, NY.
