James R. Fay, III, born November 2, 1949, died on September 14, 2020.
Jimmy is survived by his wife, Eliza Fay; his daughters, Dawn Fay, Christine Fay, Jaime Fay; his son, Sean Fay; his granddaughters, Chandra McMullin, Jaida Fay, Kayla Walsh, Natalie Fay, Joselyn Fay, Carlie Holmes; great-grandsons, Shamar McMullin, Nasier Liepke, Nyree Liepke, Tavarious Harnson; great-granddaughter, Avianna Barnt; his sister, Ellen Holst, and brother, Patrick Fay.
He was predeceased by his father, James R. Fay, Jr.; mother, Rita Fay; his brother, Charlie Fay; his siter, Colleen Kotars; his son, Robert Fay; and his grandson, Darnell McMullin.
Jimmy was a lifelong resident of Syracuse and Central Square. He was a “jack of all trades,” with careers as a volunteer firefighter for Onondaga Hill Fire Department, roofer at Pyramid Roofing, bartender at McAvan's, truck driver at JB Hunt for 25 years where he won a one million mile safety award. He had also recently been working for Raymour and Flanigan as a yard spotter and was appreciated and well loved by his coworkers.
Jimmy was a provider for his family, loving husband, father and grandfather who loved his family very much. He loved to cook and spoil ALL his children. He will be very missed by his family and friends.
Calling hours will be Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Traub Funeral Home, Central Square from 10:00 AM until 12:00 Noon with a private service for family following.
