James Photiou Sr.

James “Jimmy” Photiou Sr., 84, of McDonough, NY passed away on Sunday December 08, 2024.

James was born on November 02, 1940 to the late John and Koula Photiou in Lynn, Massachusetts. He graduated from high school and enlisted in the Army National Guard in 1961. He worked as a powerman in the military, and married Janet Carleton on September 17, 1966.

James was a dedicated farmer for many years. He was constantly on the go, he hated not being busy. Jimmy also loved the outdoors, his tractors, showing his beloved birds of all types for the world to gaze at in wonder. He was always willing to lend a helping hand to neighbors and friends and provide the laughter we all needed.

Surviving is his sons; Sean Photiou of McDonough, NY, James Photiou of Ohio, Eli Boland of Ohio, daughter; Cassandra Mirzakhani of West Virginia, a brother; Photiou & wife Ann Photoiou, a sister; Margaret Photiou, as well as 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Besides his parents, he is predeceased by a sister; Elizabeth Stasinos.
