It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Jane Schwind, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Jane’s life was a testament to the quiet power of love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Jane is predeceased by her parents, Marion (Kurtz) and Ralph MacDonald, and her brother, Allan MacDonald.
Jane is survived by her husband Richard Schwind; daughter Natalie Cummins (David); son Joseph Salvatore; stepdaughter Renee Nuzzo (Gary); and grandchildren, Jared Salvatore, Nicholas Cummins, Andrew Cummins, Mariah Salvatore, and Kassondra Nuzzo, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts. The center of Jane’s world was always her family. She lived for the joy of being a wife, mother, and grandmother, and she expressed her love in the most thoughtful ways- especially through her famous “Grandma Cookies” and heartfelt cards. Every delivery was cherished, a sweet reminder of her constant care and affection.
With her beloved husband Dick by her side for the past 30 years, Jane’s life blossomed with new adventures. Dick’s loving care in recent months has been a true testament to their deep bond and dedication to one another.
Jane gave back to her community in many ways: volunteering for the Skaneateles Figure Skating Club, baking for fundraisers, or helping with Lions Club food drives, she made service a part of her life’s rhythm. She didn’t seek recognition: she simply gave with love, leading quietly by example.
Above all, Jane leaves behind a legacy of love-one that lives on in her children, grandchildren, and everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a beautiful example of unconditional love, expressed through small but significant acts of kindness.
In remembering Jane, we celebrate a life that reminds us all to cherish family, love deeply, and give generously-even in the quietest of ways.
Rest in peace, Jane. Your love will remain with us always.
