JoAnne (Lloyd) Lallier

JoAnne Lallier, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2025.

Born in Syracuse, New York on July 12, 1944, daughter of the late Henry and Beatrice Baker Lloyd. JoAnne grew up in Fernwood, New York, where she spent her childhood exploring the woods and making memories with her sisters and neighborhood friends. She later raised her own family just a few miles away in Mexico, New York — a place that remained close to her heart throughout her life.

JoAnne married Francis Henry Lallier Jr., and together they raised five children:- Francis H. Lallier III (1965–2014), - Kelly S. Lallier (b. 1966),- Kimberly A. Lallier (1968–2021), mother to Andrea Weiskopf, Aerin Brizzi, and Sierra Whiting, - Peggy J. Lallier (b. 1971) and - Joseph D. Lallier (b. 1975), husband to Nellie Walker and father to Ashton and Breyannah Lallier

Over the years, JoAnne worked in several roles, but spent the majority of her career at the local newspaper and at Cornell Cooperative Extension, where her dedication and work ethic left a lasting impression. She will be remembered for her strength, quick wit, and her ever-present desire to just have fun. A true Jill of all trades, JoAnne had many interests — she loved woodworking, furniture
restoration, flower gardening, animals, and making things look nice. Her creativity and hands-on spirit touched everything she did. JoAnne’s life was shaped by love, laughter, and resilience. She found joy in the little things and passed that joy on to those around her. Above all else, she treasured her family — offering wisdom, humor, and quiet strength through every chapter of life. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her influence lives on in the hands, hearts, and stories of those who loved her.

A private memorial will be held by the family.
