Joan Bashford

Joan E. Bashford, 89 passed away peacefully on May 24, 2021 with her loving family by her side at the home of her son, Andrew, where she had been living and cared for the past 7 years.  She was born March 31, 1932 in Syracuse, NY. Joan was a Registered Nurse for 30 years at Upstate University Hospital and retired in 1990, she was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in Brewerton, and belonged to the Parish Writers group for many years.  Joan was preceded in death by her husband, Paul, of almost 60 years and son-in-law, Richard Goodrich. 

Joan is survived by her daughter, Karen Goodrich of Texas, her son, Thomas (Rebecca) of North Carolina, and her son, Andrew (Tina) of Fulton, New York; grandchildren Aaron, Justin, Gretchen, Micah, Rachel, Nicholas, Kyle, and 7 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Marge Nielsen of Vermont, and Aunt Verna (Charles) Boose of Florida; many nieces and nephews and her wonderful care givers of the past 3 years.

Writing stories and poems, sketching, photography, embroidering, and camping with her family were a few of her favorite hobbies and past times. She had a creative mind and a peaceful soul.

Graveside Services will be held privately.
